Our body sensations, feelings and emotions are the origination and basis of how we manage ourselves in the world. They are vital to our well-being.

It is from our subjective experience of our bodies that we first make sense of life and create the meanings that precede and shape our mental concepts and thinking. These feeling responses take us naturally in the direction of growth and pleasure, but they also help us develop patterns of behaviour and belief that serve to protect us from the impact of life's difficulties and traumas.
Over time, however, these necessary defences can serve to limit our present possibilities, often resulting in rigidity and stagnation. We survive from day to day but somehow lose contact with the flow of our natural aliveness.
Radix Education in Feeling helps bring new flexibility to these survival mechanisms, helping to loosen the grip of old ways of being and restoring the natural expression of the body. Feeling processes that have become 'stuck' move towards resolution, resulting in a growing sense of aliveness and a deepening capacity for authenticity. Creativity flows and the richness and flexibility of life's essential pulsation is gently restored.
Thought, feeling and body sensations cannot be separated. They are crucial to the deep healing required to make long lasting changes in an individual's life. By exploring our sensations and feelings and allowing thoughts and words to arise, an understanding emerges of how our body unconsciously participates in, and often interferes with, the way we live our lives.
It is this experiential awareness - occurring in the present moment - that gives us the opportunity to strengthen and re-channel the flow of the life force, resulting in an embodied sense of empowerment and greater awareness of life's possibilities.
A signature quality of Radix work is the way it effectively supports the individual in having greater choice and flexibility when managing feelings. In restoring the connection to the body and the feeling process, a deeper self- connection is encouraged, and the ability to construct and maintain healthy boundaries significantly enhanced. Out of this learning process can come a new and profound sense of both security and intimacy.
There is no pre-ordained shape to a Radix session. Elements incorporated might include breathing, vision, body sensation and awareness, simple movement, and integrative verbal work, such resources always being utilized from a principle of mind-body unity.
For some this means developing and building the capability to experience the body as a physical 'container' for feelings, and for others facilitating a surrender to the natural expression of those feelings.
Many of us often do not realize how much energy it takes to keep who we are or how we feel 'under wraps' until we have actually experienced the freeing of that energy and been able to put it to creative use. When what has hitherto been unfinished or unhealed in a human life is able to come to a resolution, new choices emerge, and the limitations of the past become the opportunities of the future.
